Gann Online Help: What's New

Staying Current: The "What's New" Button

Staying up-to-date with your legal research has never been easier than with Gann Online. Not only can you instantly check the status of any case with a Search by Case Cite search, and not only can you instantly check the status of any reference such as a court rule, evidence rule, or statute with a Search by Reference search, but you can also see at a glance whether any new case or new statute has had an impact on any portion of the treatise you are reading.

At the top of any paragraph which has been or could be impacted by a new case or new statute, you will see a button that reads, simply, What's New:

what's new

Clicking on the What's New button calls the updated information up into the left frame (or upper-most frame if you have changed your frames position, and presents it in the familiar Table of Contents context.

In this example, the What's New button discloses that one of the cases cited in the paragraph was the subject of a petition for certification to the New Jersey Supreme Court, which denied the petition.

You can also see at a glance just how current the print edition of each treatise is, and how up-to-date the What's New material is, by glancing at the "Current Through" information at the bottom of any page:
