JOHN M. CANNEL

John M. Cannel served as a New Jersey Public Defender for nearly twenty years and was a member of multiple criminal task forces and committees, including the Governor's Task Force on Implementation of the Criminal Code and the New Jersey Supreme Court Committees on Criminal Practice and Evidence. He also was the first Executive Director of the New Jersey Law Revision Commission and spent many years teaching at Rutgers University Law School and Seton Hall University School of Law.

SAMUEL M. SILVER

Samuel M. Silver has served as Deputy Director of the New Jersey Law Revision Commission and Deputy Ethics Counsel with the New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics. He currently serves as Administrator of the Special Compensation Funds within the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of Workers' Compensation. In this capacity, he oversees the administration and litigation of the Second Injury Fund and the Uninsured Employers Fund.

Mr. Silver has litigated matters before the Superior Court of New Jersey, including the Law Division and Appellate Division, the Supreme Court of New Jersey, and the United States District Court. In 2018, he was appointed as a member of the District VIII Fee Arbitration Committee, and in 2022 he was appointed to the District VIII Ethics Committee. He graduated cum laude from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from American University Washington College of Law, and received an LL.M. in Advocacy, with distinction, from Stetson University College of Law. Mr. Silver also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Seton Hall University School of Law, where he teaches Introduction to Lawyering to first-year students.

The publication date of any edition of a Gann treatise is the date that edition first becomes accessible online. When you purchase "Online Access with Paperback" or "Online Access with E-Book", online access to that treatise will expire on the publication date of the next edition, roughly one year after publication of the prior edition.

When you purchase "Online Access Only", such online access will expire one year from the date of purchase.

Purchase of online access to a Gann treatise entitles you to a single user license subject to the terms of use. Under that license, only the registered user may access the licensed online treatise. Access to that online treatise by other individuals using the login name of the registered user is prohibited, and will result in the loss of the registered user's license for online access.

Immediate access will be granted upon subscription to an online treatise, whether paid by credit card or invoiced to an established Gann account. However, invoices for online access must be paid within 10 business days. Otherwise, continued access may be denied.
